Ruby Slipperz

Ruby left school to take up the role of receptionist with a local Insurance Agency for 6 years until she moved on to manage the family Transport Business for 2 years as well as tutoring Singing and Performance.  In 1989 joined Darling Downs Television working in many areas including News, Production, Copy, Administration, Promotions as well as on screen presentation. 

In 1993 left the television industry to take up full time performance in children’s entertainment, street theatre, music, and recording.  In 1997 commenced radio career with the Darling Downs Radio Centre (864 4GR). Successfully hosted breakfast “John and Ruby”. 

Turning to politics, she was elected to Toowoomba City Council and topped the poll.

In 2005 became a partner with Father, Reg, in family business, Tews Transport. 

Now in her mid 40’s Ruby is married to John Schneider and has 2 children, Harrison 11 and Madeline 4.
