Remember the old 4IP... at one time it was the nation's highest rating station and it dominated the airwaves in South East Queensland for a long time. River 949 brings the old 4IP back to life! Before there was a Radio TAB, before there was Radio 10, 4IP was the station South East Queensland listened to more than any other. We're bringing back the music, the atmosphere, the memories and the classic moments that made 4IP a legend in Australian radio!

Mike Byrne dusts off an old paper 4IP chart from the 70’s or 80’s each weekday at 1pm on the Back to 4IP Countdown. He counts down the top 20 songs from the chart, just like it would have been done on 4IP… way back in the “old days”. Mike also picks a few great songs that didn’t quiet make the top 20 that week – they’re more great songs you won’t hear anywhere else.
