There's been much 'will they or won't they' speculation in the past few weeks but Miss Piggy has confirmed her and Kermit will be attending this years Academy Awards.

Miss Piggy had earlier suggested she wouldn't be attending the ceremony, despite The Muppets being nominated for Best Song at this years Oscars, citing decrimination against animal stars and noting that all nominees in acting categories are human.

Piggy previously told reporters: "It's wonderful to be nominated in the best song category, even if it wasn't a song I sang, As for going to the Oscars, it's hard to feel right about going to an event like that where you're not really welcome."

Academy Award organisers have met the demands of Miss Piggy halfway announcing: "Hollywood icons Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will present at the 84th Academy Awards ... Their place in motion picture and television history has been cemented for decades, as evidenced by their well-deserved invitation to be presenters at this year's Academy Awards ceremony."

The Muppets are nominated for Best Original Song this year for Man or Muppet.
