Meet The Jeep Team

Jessie
Jessie is in her last year at school at a well respected school in our Ipswich region. When she first started here at River she was the work experience kid who took orders from just about anyone, but her hard work is paying off because now she is living the dream, painting faces and flipping snags on a Saturday morning. We will probably give her time off for schoolies week, but only if she is in bed by 10pm and promises to eat her greens while she is there.

Thomas
Thomas is somewhat of a newbie here at River 94.9. His older brother used to work here for us, so he got a job pretty easily but we have since found out why they refer to him as the black sheep. To his credit though, he is probably the best face painter the radio industry has ever seen and while we’re at it – the deepness of his voice, well that is between him and John Laws. All in all, he is a good egg.

Stewart
Stewie is the big man on campus at River 949, he is also some what of a veteran here and what Stewie says, goes. In the promo shed we keep a booster seat with Stewie’s name on it just in case he needs to drive in the promo cars, it has Thomas the Tank Engine on it. He is able to ride most roller coasters at Theme Parks, although there are a few he is waiting to ride due to an impending growth spurt. He usually gets away with murder at work because basically we’re all in love with him.

Daniel
Dan is a good kid, we first met him when he was working for Grove Juice (the best juice in the world) however we liked the look of him and one week later he took on a 2nd job, wearing a river shirt, flipping snags and painting faces. The day he buys you Happy Meal from McDonalds, is the day you know you’re in with Dan. He lives near a much loved pub in Brisbane and thinks it’d be a shame to not pay a visit to it every couple of days, therefore he can be found there have a good old time on most Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Toby
Toby loves a good time. He always seems to have the coolest photos of himself at the hottest festivals in town; either that or he is a wiz at photo-shop. He enjoys listening to music, the odd drink with friends and has just come back from a 2 month trip from the UK. We were going to roster him on while he’s away and then get angry at him for not turning up, but decided that would be silly. Toby is also quite creative; a special mention must go the soccer ball/rugby ball he made out of a balloon and 4 rolls of Gaffer tape. What a day that was.

Matthew
Matty J is the wannabe jock of our promo team. He likes to think he knows everything about blowing up balloons but give him a microphone and he’s a happy little vegemite. He loves us that much that he drives from the coast to Ipswich each time he is rostered on to work. Sometimes we put him on a late night shift and an early morning shift in a row just to be funny. He loves a beer or seven and also manages and has driven in a v8 super car team.

Carla
Carla is a multi tasker. She first started with us as our receptionist until she went overseas, swanning herself around Europe with her Sister. Now that she is back, she takes orders from our sales reps, being the Sales Co-Coordinator and also cleans our toilets. Don’t ask. She is a valued member of our street team, although we think she uses us for the money just so she can go overseas faster. She is always getting into trouble at work for going onto facebook. Look her up, she is probably online now.
